Our client had a major fire which destroyed the whole of its commercial premises and manufacturing unit. Unexpectedly, the insurance company refused to pay out on the grounds of non-disclosure of an event in the client's past. It turned out the insurance broker had advised our client all along that there was no need to make this disclosure. So the claim was against the broker in the end, not the insurer. Achieved successful outcome without the need for issue of proceedings. The clients business has survived and they have walked away with a six figure sum.
