Commercial Contracts

Our expertise in litigation means we can get quickly to the commercial and legal sense of agreements, however complex. This makes for effective contracts, giving our clients the contract terms that will work for them.

We are also competition lawyers, i.e. we have a deep specialism in the regulations and general law about unfair business practices.  This is an unusual specialism amongst English lawyers, but we have gained it through the tough experience of our track record of litigation in this area.

We find that our specialism gives us a strong view on contracts generally (and can inform the terms we negotiate), because it pervades many contracts and industries. Competition law overlays commercial contracts: other legal specialisms bring a nuts-and-bolts, add/subtract approach based on precedent forms; this one involves understanding the overall commercial aspects and implications of the contract.
